JoinedUpDesign for Schools

In 2005/6, working with The Sorrell Foundation, students from courses across University of the Arts London worked with five London primary schools to explore new developments to their schools. Ranging from proposals for remodelling or completely new buildings to new uniforms and graphic identity, our students (from architecture, graphic design, and fine art), led workshop sessions with primary school pupils to integrate pupil ideas into the continued growth of their schools.

This work was part of a long-term project (2002-2006), sponsored by the Sorrell Foundation, involving school pupils, university students and design professionals, from across the UK.

The project culminated in a travelling exhibition that visited communities across the country. The exhibition was launched at the Houses of Parliament, with presentations from Sir John Sorrell and Members of Parliament.
